Pros

They pay more than almost any other research job

Cons

The management is in disarray. They've added dozens of director/executive positions in the past year but had mass layoffs for lower-level employees. Patient-facing staff are overworked and concerns fall on deaf ears. No sick leave beyond regular PTO. The company started off very diverse, but they have consistently hired white people- majority men- for the upper-level corporate positions in the past year; you can tell how this has negatively impacted diversity or ideas and experiences brought to the table.

Please know this feedback is truly appreciated and has not fallen on deaf ears. As an emerging company that has experienced rapid growth over the past few years, feedback such as this is vital to the success of the organization. It is disappointing to learn this has been your experience, as our operational staff are the most crucial aspect of the relationships built with our healthcare partners, sponsors, and most importantly, our patients. To better support our staff’s individual needs, we provide sick time and vacation time in one PTO allotment that can be used at their discretion. Diversity is a significant part of Javara’s foundation that is critical to our mission and vision. We recently designated a director that is dedicated to DEI initiatives not just externally, but also internally across all areas of the business. We recognize that we will not always get it right, but we will always encourage transparent communication and welcome the opportunity to have these discussions. Thank you for taking the time and attention to share this information. If you would like to discuss any additional thoughts, ideas, questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at HR@javararesearch.com or our Director, DEI & Community Engagement at communityengagement@javararesearch.com.

Pros

I can’t say enough about this company. It feels incredibly special to be a part of an organization with such an impactful and innovative mission. My coworkers are incredible, there are tons of opportunities for career growth and mobility, benefits/pay is far above average in the industry, and our leaders are inspirational.

Cons

With any new org or even a company breaking norms, there are bound to be growing pains. Many of the poor reviews here are from jaded former employees that were unfortunately laid off years ago… what is failed to be mentioned is that our industry as a whole suffered significantly that year and lay offs took place across most of the industry overall. Not Javara’s fault…. Other networks had to close their doors completely and often laid off exponentially more people

Pros

The healthcare benefits are fantastic, and the PTO is decent. The starting rate for a CTN is pretty great in this economy.

Cons

There is RAMPANT favoritism and almost nepotism running through the company. It started off a small company, and expanded so quickly they were scrambling for coverage so much they ended up hiring close friends. They will play favorites with these hired friends and will run everyone else into the ground. There will be a clear line between the “popular” hires and the others. The popular hires/friends will hide out in management’s office all day gossiping, while the rest see pts, process blood, run interference with the PIs, and the CRAs. Don’t look to be promoted if you’re not part of the popular crowd. They had a seminar that everyone was expected to attend talking about mental health and how we were supposed to handle the stress of work. Everything that was suggested is not feasible, but they get a pat on the back for saying “Mental Health Matters” and pretending they care.
