Pros

remote working; coworkers are smart, hardworking. the company culture was good when I just joined.

Cons

toxic management: 1) example one: C level people often shout out to employees who worked overtime/during weekend to fix an emergency bug or meet a tight deadline 2) example two: one team lead emailed the whole team, and even unrelated teams saying that he had to let someone go because he couldn't met the performance expectations. it is very disrespectful. I feel really bad for the coworker they let go. poor onboarding guidance for new people: they expect you to figure out everything yourself. you need to be really good and comfortable asking a lot of questions. salary is very low compared with other tech companies.

Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate you sharing that you got to work with smart, hard working people at Jerry. I'm sure you were one of them with your long tenure at Jerry! I'd like to address a few of the areas of feedback: -You are right that we do often shoutout employees who go above and beyond to make sure our customer experience and operations are smooth when there are glitches that require after hours work. We are very appreciative of those kinds of efforts. -We're looking into the email you mentioned as that does not sound like details we'd typically share. We'll immediately take action to better train team leads on this topic if this information was delivered as stated. Thanks for calling it out. -Our onboarding has improved 10x since you joined but, you are right, for our early employees like you, there was much to be desired. -We DO want people to ask lots of questions. Question everything! There are usually better ways to do things and we don't get there without questioning current practices. -We annually benchmark our salaries and are confident we provide competitive base salaries.

Pros

Working as a Software Engineer at Jerry.ai honestly feels like being in a constant sprint with some of the sharpest minds I’ve met. The dev culture here is wild, people think fast, build fast, and expect results that actually matter. You’re given full ownership of your projects, from design to deployment, and it’s super satisfying seeing your code go live within days. The engineering problems are legit interesting too we’re talking large-scale optimization, performance tuning, and automation challenges that push you to think beyond just syntax. I really vibe with the “figure it out, ship it, and iterate” mindset. It’s high-energy, collaborative, and full of those late-night “wait, that actually worked?” moments.

Cons

If you’re someone who values crystal-clear direction and structured workflows like me, Jerry.ai might feel a bit overwhelming at times. The company’s still scaling, so processes can feel rough around the edges and sometimes documentation lags behind features, and it’s easy to get lost juggling multiple priorities. Communication across teams can get tricky too, especially when everyone’s moving a mile a minute. You learn to sync fast and over-communicate, but it takes a bit of adjusting. Also, because expectations are high, imposter syndrome can sneak in when you’re surrounded by brilliant people. But if you take it as motivation instead of pressure, you’ll grow faster than anywhere else.
