Pros

Fun place to work, especially late night weekend shifts. Good way to earn decent money in college, especially as delivery driver. They have a huge employee turnaround as most employees are in college, so they're constantly promoting employees into management positions - a good way to get some management experience and earn extra money. At this particular store, the Franchise Owners were great. In-depth Operations Manual that laid out anything you'd ever need to know about running a store.

Cons

Corporate is overbearing and keeps too tight of a grip on the store. For example, our store once put a sample of a Boxed Lunch on display to promote sales and when the corporate consultant came to town he made us remove it. Managers are expected to perform tasks that minimum wage employees could easily handle, such as prepping vegetables for the day or slicing meats...a huge waste of labor and a morale killer for managers. Long hours on your feet with no breaks...especially for managers. It seemed the higher your rank, the more they wore you out. Managers easily averaged 11-12 hours per shift, at least 10 of which were on your feet. Manager shifts were roughly 6AM to 5-6PM and 5PM - 5AM. Employees only given a sandwich if you worked an 8 hour or longer shift. No room for advancement. In a company that owned 5 stores, there wasn't even a regional manager. The highest achievable position was General Manager, which only has good pay if your store has amazing sales. Salary for a GM is ridiculously low, but bonuses could be nearly as high as your salary, making for decent compensation (assuming you are meeting performance goals.)

Pros

Good pay, if there aren't too many drivers, and you're at a good place for lunch, you can expect to make around $50 in tips per day or more, and get reimbursed for mileage. The people there can be hit or miss, some people can be very fun to work with and responsible.

Cons

The upper management can be lead with too many sensitive women, who don't know how to diagnose situations properly, and take the side of the immature employees who get offended way too easily. The co-workers can be very young and irresponsible, but this is par for the course for food places if you don't have strong leadership.
