Pros

Very stable business structure. Challenging work, and interesting projects. They support & provide all the developmental learning necessary and encourage employees to continually close any knowledge gaps. Good allotment of vacation and holiday time off. Full tuition aid for advanced degrees Pension is still available
Cons
Benefits have been fading over the years. Less 401k matching, less health insurance coverage, bonus structure is continually adjusted putting it further and further out of reach and reducing the benefit. They promote a Work/Life balance, but the culture looks down on it and it's an unspoken rule if you want to get ahead and move up the career ladder it is expected to work more and more hours. Rewards employees for correcting issues and fixing failures vs. developing behaviors to prevent problems or promoting positive results. Been a recent push for "efficient engineering" practices. AKA reduced staff with more work and responsibilities. Leads to early burnout from a highly demanding, intense, and stressful atmosphere. Engineers are given all the responsibility to get projects to production, but have none of the authority to drive the supporting teams to meet their task requirements. Most of the engineering support staff has been outsourced overseas. "Design Engineers" are really just project coordinators and project managers.
