A little less than what I hoped for but it’s manageable. - Electrician Johnson Controls Employee Review

Pros

Great benefits, you can use company tools, will always have work. Not far from the city of Hattiesburg which is a great place.

Cons

Very low pay, no training (kind of just get thrown out there), majority of the attitudes suck (no one speaks and always looks like they hate their lives), the hours blow (first shift 6am-2pm, second shift 2pm-10pm, and third shift 10pm-6am). They say you’ll work just a few Saturdays but so far I’ve worked every one of them and I’ve asked around and been told that every Saturday has been worked for the past two years. There’s only “30 minutes” worth of a break during the whole 8+ hour shift (10 minutes at my 8 am and 20 at 11 but it takes at least 3 minutes just to walk away from where you’re working to go outside or the break room for break which takes off a lot of time). The list goes on and on. I’d only take this job if I was really desperate.

Pros

Decent pay, good PTO and benefits

Cons

Everything else. ZERO training. They hand you a laptop (which is garbage) and say good luck. There is no "team." Everyone is on their own. The senior techs all reached their peak 20 years ago and don't even know what BACnet is. The bureaucracy is unbearable. Ordering a simple part is nearly impossible. There are so many apps you have to check in on everyday and they care more about those metrics than they care about the service their customers are receiving. If you want to get your butt kicked everyday with zero support at a company that specializes in taking advantage of their customers, this is the job for you.
