Pros

Sadly, there may only be one pro - If you are lucky (because it does depend on who you are, you’ll get to either work from home or have the opportunity to utilize flex time. But again this is solely based on who you are or who you work for. Management is NOT on the same page across the board.

Cons

Don’t fall for the picture of unicorns and rainbows during the interview process - what you told is far from the real deal! Interviewees beware !!! They use Skype messaging as their way to track their employees and depending on who you are, should your status change to “away”, you will be asked where you were. Skype is their big brother tool and it’s used as that! Writing up employees is their “go to” Management does NOT know how to speak to their employees in a respectful manner - they think nothing of belittling you in front of your peers Management will overload you on purpose, setting you up to fail The work process is so antiquated that you will never leave there thinking you got any work done There is NO proper training For AR, there is about 5-6 people working on the same account, nothing is streamlined They LOVE paper! Definitely not updated where technology is concerned Regardless of the department you work in, the responsibility of entering payroll is added to your list of responsibilities. The love excel reports! Pretty much the only thing that department knows how to do - and you can get the same report run in a different way asking for the same detail. Once again and I can’t stress enough NOTHING is streamlined. You can send an email out to 5 other people for example asking for help, documentation, etc and should no one do their job as far as answering, it’s YOUR fault! Everyone is in your personal business - people think nothing of throwing you under the bus. Diversity - Johnson Controls seriously lacks and THIS is a big issue!

Pros

Decent base pay and fast paced work makes the days go by quickly. Lately the company has been actually investing in their new product lines ever since Joakim became our CEO.

Cons

The compensation is lacking. No bonuses whatsoever for senior level engineers even when they're recognized as a key contributor on the team. We are given our 401k match on March 1st to cover the previous year's matches so you lose out on a lot of the year's market gains. The healthcare coverage is mediocre at best for a fortune 500 company. The raises are still given like it's 2018; 3% is considered a "good" merit increase. This is due to the "forced distribution" merit increase system where only "so many" people can receives "above expectations" raises.
