Pros

The office is located in an A-Class building. The decor is impeccable. Good benefits.

Cons

Management overall is horrible. If you are unhappy with your job or things are working out, management invites you to leave. They could care less whether you stay or go. The Irvine location is a revolving door as far as attorneys are concerned. HIGH turnover. If you don't fit the Jones Day mold, it is a brutal environment to be involved in. There are lots of promises, but no delivery. The company is so large that getting through the red tape to accomplish anything is impossible. They have no retention policy and the turn-over doesn't bother them. The majority of the support staff in the form of secretaries have been there so long that as a result they are extraordinarily complacent. There is favoritism among the management to who they like or don't like on all levels.

Pros

Very different model than other firms in terms of compensation that can help avoid some of the competitive nature that may be present elsewhere.

Cons

Transparency in terms of evaluations could be improved.
