Pros
The pay (if you're in good with your manager), particularly if you got in before the investment from Big Tobacco.
Cons
- Lies, lies, lies. All the way from the CEO to middle management, deception is the rule. Trust nothing they tell you. They will tell you anything they think you want to hear, and then screw you when you're on the hook. These people have no integrity whatsoever. - Read up on United States v. Philip Morris, the company (rebranded as "Altria") that bought several seats on their board. The "mission" is money. Always has been. Don't be fooled. - Politics. Progression here is all about who you know. The backstabbing, gossip, undermining, etc., is pervasive. The result is a hostile work environment bordering on abuse and daily misery. - Incompetence. You'd think that with so much money, they could hire the best and brightest. Instead, with few exceptions, it's mediocrity up and down. These people are just not good at what they do. They repeatedly turn simple problems into hard ones through a lack of ability, and convince themselves that they're splitting the atom. - Burnout. They will run you into the ground. They want to see you eat, sleep, and breathe work. You will lose sleep. Your life will suffer. You will ask yourself if it's all worth it. It won't be. - They will monitor you. I could go on and on. Stay away from this place.
