Pros
The pros from my time at KPC Promise are vast but I will highlight three. -Culture: During my time at promise, work culture and team dynamics were held above all else, there was a period of time (the golden era) in which the staff was closer to family than co-workers, quality of care was superb, we took best in state five years running. -Industry juggernauts: I had the privilege of working and learning from one of the best wound care practitioners around. The physicians were usually intensivists, pulmonologists, or both. The NP’s were highly skilled, the pharmacy and director were top tier, all bringing years of experience to one place. -Private pay: being a private hospital could be classified as a con as well, at some points legistration, reimbursement schedules, and insurance providers would align and you got to see what running an LTAC with an appropriate budget was like… heaven
Cons
• Like any healthcare environment, it could sometimes be stressful, especially during high patient turnover periods. • There were occasional challenges with interdepartmental communication, but these were usually resolved with team meetings and open discussions.
