Pros

1) Opportunities to work with a lot of smart, talented and well-rounded people within the firm 2) Opportunities to work with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders 3) Ample scope for personal and professional development 4) Wide leeway to pursue and/or develop other interests and/or hobbies within the firm - these include fitness, volunteering, writing, CSR activities, etc. 5) Taking initiative, leadership and/or ownership is greatly encouraged. You get to manage teams and direct specific tasks on many occasions, even at a mid-senior level 6) A smart, process-driven culture, with clear-cut compliance norms that infuse the discipline that is needed for progress 7) Employees are generally respected and valued for who they are as persons as well as what they bring to the table

Cons

1) There is a need for greater industry specialization within the consulting practice 2) Your level of career advancement within the firm largely depends on the kind of boss you have.

Pros

Pros may vary depending on your manager and team. Unfortunately, my experience was consistently negative, and moving on to another opportunity was the right decision for me.

Cons

Extremely challenging and one of the most difficult professional experiences I have had. My experience was heavily influenced by leadership, communication, and workplace culture. I experienced communication that felt personal rather than constructive, and after raising concerns through the appropriate channels, I did not observe meaningful follow-up. I believe managers should be selected not only for technical expertise but also for leadership ability, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness. Compensation also felt below market for the responsibilities expected.
