Pros

OK compensation but simply blood money. Good on resume and to prove some base level of competence in interviews.

Cons

Unprofessional. Deal advisory people are self-righteous, petty and glorified accountants. Think they are PE guys, investment bankers, or strategists. Umm you're work is an overpriced commodity. You're the tiniest stage of a deal. You over deliver work at low fees because you're a commodity, and then bash people on budgets, even after asking teams to do more work than what's in scope. Don't care for a minute about your life, family or well being. Openly curse at and about people. Don't develop people and bash when they don't perform to perfection. Love data people and even then, are treated like a slave. While now leading a team in industry, I'll never hire them because I don't support slave labor.

Pros

It might sound cliche but the Pro for me is the people that I work with. I'm lucky enough to be staffed in a team with great leadership. Managers are actually willing to coach junior members and be a real mentor. I very much appreciate their efforts.

Cons

Long hours and office politics. This is pretty basic and obvious for any public accounting firms. Every time a quarter end, year end, or a special filing is going out, you can expect 10-14 hour days. It might be fine in your early career but it gets really tiring after a few years.
