Pros
-A breeze after the training (they don't officially hire you until you've passed, which, if you're appropriately conscientious, is not hard). -At least out in the 'burbs, I would occasionally get motivated/eager students who it was actually fun to teach. -The pay isn't horrible. They pay extra per hour if the commute is over 20 miles (and another bump if it's over 50, etc.)
Cons
Tough to get hours in suburban areas. At best, you're teaching two classes a semester. Each class will probably net you a little over $1,000. This can help you make ends meet but won't be enough if you're living on your own. Not really any room for growth. You could graduate to faculty manager but there's one of those for probably every 50 tutors-- so don't hold your breath.
