Pros
- They pay for prep time - it's at a lower rate (usu. minimum wage) than actual class or tutoring time, but teachers at other locations don't get anything for prep time so it's a plus. - The hours required are perfect for a student or someone looking for a small part-time job. - You can teach just about anywhere in the nation. You just need a computer and a webcam to meet with your supervisors.
Cons
- Biggest problem: Kaplan has so many online interfaces that it will make your head spin. This is a huge problem since all your interaction with co-workers and supervisors is online - just write down your passwords so you don't forget them!! - Management rotates so often that teachers won't have much time to build up a relationship with them. This is critical because faculty managers decide who gets how many classes.
