Pros
My team has the feeling of a small startup. We are encouraged to try new processes and there is an attempt at a horizontal leadership structure that de-emphasizes hierarchy.
Cons
The pay is just not competitive, and long-time Kaplan folks are so stuck in multiple-choice standardized testing that our student-facing projects lack rigor, critical thinking, and pedagogical creativity. I'm in a 'part-time' position but work full-time because of the demand. Despite the higher-than-predicted hours, there is a constant effort to streamline and reduce work and a sense of stress when anyone takes a day off. I have to take a day off when I have to actually keep to my part-time commitment so I have time for my other jobs (which I need because the pay is low and I don't have benefits).
