Pros
Kaplan offers flexible work schedules and remote work options, which can be a significant benefit for maintaining work-life balance.
Cons
I joined Kaplan with high hopes, eager to contribute to a company renowned for its educational services. Unfortunately, my experience fell drastically short of my expectations, leaving me deeply disappointed. From the onset, the way staff were spoken to and looked down upon was disheartening. As a manager, I frequently witnessed and experienced the microaggressions and gaslighting that were pervasive in the company culture. This toxic behaviour was not isolated incidents but a consistent pattern that created a hostile work environment. The impact on mental health was significant. Team members and colleagues from other departments regularly confided in me about how the negative atmosphere affected their well-being. The stress and anxiety stemming from this environment were palpable, leading to a noticeable decline in morale and productivity. In less than a year, eight Business Analysts left Kaplan, myself being the ninth. This high turnover rate speaks volumes about the underlying issues within the company. Each departure was accompanied by similar grievances, underscoring a systemic problem that the leadership seemed unwilling or unable to address. It is truly a shame to see a company with such potential hindered by a toxic culture. The disregard for employee well-being not only impacts the individuals but also the overall performance and reputation of the organisation. I hope Kaplan takes these issues seriously and implements meaningful changes to create a healthier, more supportive work environment for future employees.
