Decent company, but could be a bit better - Senior Software Engineer Keysight Technologies Employee Review

Pros

+ A lot of technical challenges from which you have the opportunity to learn + Seems to be a decent company to start up your career. It's a well-respected name in the networking industry + The benefits package looks attractive. Over the years, I've really felt that the HR in Romania are trying to change things for the better if given power. + After some time, the company found a solution (even if it was a bit late), so that employees would not lose money after the catastrophic fiscal measures imposed by the Romanian government. Kudos to the management for this.

Cons

+ Keysight integration brings a lot of unneeded bureaucracy (Sorry guys, but some internal apps and processes are really from the 90s - early 2000s) + Mediocrity (in some teams). It seems that some people would rather come to work to socialize more than to do actual work, but nobody seems to care. Also, some people just love to banter and gossip, and this ruins the atmosphere for the others. There seems to be no decency anymore. + Somewhat low salaries compared to other companies in Bucharest for jobs requiring seniority.

Pros

One star for the amazing people, one star for paycheck.

Cons

When I left, it took at least a month to decompress from the toxicity. KGM reorgs were a regular occurrence (5 in a 2-year span, for example) resulting in colleagues reappearing in roles in which they have no experience or disappearing all together. This created a culture of constant backstabbing and insecurity. Leadership picked favorites, ignoring the talents of many and this was reflective in bonuses. They undervalue and lose a lot of talented people, and it continues in spite of their recent positive quarterly reports. Reactionary marketing strategies result in a lot of wasted time and work. Read the rest of the reviews before taking on a role here. You will see a pattern.
