They are only interested if it involves them, if it doesn’t them personally they will not help. If they don’t want to help you, they will tell you that they are too busy or don’t have the hours to put on the project. They will throw you out to the wolves and expect you to survive there is no training period or process, you are basically learning as you go and you don’t receive mentorship to help you along this path.
