Pros

hiring process was very fast

Cons

Short staffed, they take critical patients from ICU from other hospitals and place them on med surge floor which is mostly staffed with new grad nurses because they can't keep their experienced nurses. Nurse does everything, total patient care since most of the times techs can not be found anywhere, all lab draws, because there is no phlebotomy team, all wound care, which is hard because people do not work as a team and at times it takes hours to find someone to help to reposition patient so wound care can be done. This place does not even have an HR department, recently they fired entire HR team and now they only have HR help line. Equipment is broken, AC does not work most of the time, there are wholes inside the walls in the patients rooms and cob webs in the windows. Also there is no matching 401K contributions. I imagine every other job would have to be better then this. They also admit mental health patients they are not equipped or trained for and you have to take care of patients who want to punch you or they try to run away from unit. It is truly a huge mess.

Pros

- Patient population provides excellent sense of purpose and accomplishment

Cons

Prospective clinicians should exercise extreme caution before accepting a position at this facility. During my time here, I experienced a severe lack of administrative and clinical support during a critical patient safety event. When I advocated for a patient whose acuity had clearly escalated beyond the capabilities of the current unit, management repeatedly refused to facilitate a higher acuity unit transfer. This left me to manage a dangerously unstable clinical situation almost entirely alone, directly compromising patient safety and creating an environment ripe for adverse events. Rather than offering support and conducting a constructive review of the system failures that led to this stress, administration chose to retaliate. When I took time off to process the intense distress caused by their clinical negligence, management and administration marred my professional record with false accusations regarding my performance and attendance. This facility does not support its frontline staff, ignores critical patient escalation needs, and uses retaliatory tactics to cover up administrative shortfalls. I highly recommend all patients, referral sources, and clinicians, look elsewhere if they value their license and mental well-being.
