Pros

From the moment I joined King Living, I’ve felt a deep sense of belonging and excitement about being part of something truly special. King Living’s values—passion, integrity, innovation, and collaboration—are not just words; they are woven into everything the company does. As a company with almost 50 years of history, King Living has maintained a strong focus on innovative, sustainable design that will stand the test of time. It's inspiring to be part of a company that combines decades of experience with a forward-thinking approach to design, sustainability, and business growth. What stands out to me most is the leadership within the North American region. Mat, the Regional Director, exemplifies the values of collaboration and integrity. He has a genuine interest in the people he leads and ensures that the teams are inclusive, collaborative, and focused on achieving results together. His leadership style empowers his leaders to analyze the business and make strategic decisions that will contribute to long-term success. Mat’s commitment to supporting his teams allows them to thrive, knowing they have the resources and autonomy to do great work. Employee engagement is a priority at King Living, which is apparent through initiatives designed to foster a positive and motivating culture. One great example is the holiday party, where the company prioritized bringing the team together along with their plus ones. This simple yet meaningful gesture speaks volumes about how much King Living values team connection and employee satisfaction. It's a clear reflection of the company's commitment to creating a strong, supportive work environment, where individuals feel valued and motivated. Another cornerstone of King Living's culture is its unwavering focus on the client experience. From the showroom to after the sale, there is an intense commitment to ensuring each client has an enjoyable and memorable experience. The company is proactive in seeking honest feedback from clients, which helps us continuously improve and maintain the high standards that King Living is known for. This dedication to customer satisfaction is evident at every level of the business. The growth mindset here is equally impressive, particularly in North America market. King Living is focused on expanding thoughtfully and sustainably, ensuring that each new market contributes positively to the brand and its clients. This growth is supported by a structure that offers guidance and resources to teams, while also providing space for organic learning and personal growth. I’ve seen firsthand that there’s a strong commitment to onboarding new team members, with a mix of structured training and individualized learning paths. It's exciting to be part of a company that invests in its people and actively works to enhance the onboarding experience. King Living's flat organizational structure is another highlight. It’s easy to connect with home office partners, who are always willing to help and offer support in removing obstacles. Whether it’s HR, marketing, operations, or inventory, the entire team is deeply committed to making sure every department has what it needs to succeed. This open and collaborative approach creates a culture where everyone feels supported and empowered to do their best work. I feel truly grateful to be a part of King Living. The culture here, the focus on innovation and growth, and the genuine care for the team and the client experience make this an inspiring place to work. I’m excited about the future and the opportunity to grow alongside the company as we continue to build something remarkable.

Cons

As with any global company expanding into a new market, there are natural challenges that come with the process. King Living is still navigating the details of expanding into the U.S., and while it’s an exciting opportunity, it does take time and investment to work through the growing pains of entering a new market. There are lots of learnings along the way (which can be fun and rewarding), but it does require patience and flexibility as systems and processes continue to evolve. That being said, the company is committed to making these adjustments and is actively working on improving these areas to ensure a smooth experience for both employees and customers.

Pros

I have truly enjoyed my time at King Living so far. The company genuinely cares about its employees, offering competitive wages and benefits. I also love the furniture I sell—it brings something fresh and innovative to the Chicago market. I get excited to showcase our products to clients and always enjoy seeing their reactions. Our team of design consultants has been carefully selected to embody the best qualities of King. With a diverse range of skills, we create a strong team that offers expertise across various aspects of design and functionality.

Cons

The main challenge is that, since our home office is based in Australia, communication can sometimes be difficult from the U.S.
