Pros

- friendly management and friendly coworkers - employees get 15% off on all Kohl's merchandise - all ages work here! - most of time seemed like a very calm environment

Cons

- this could be a con for some and a pro for others, but you are on your feet all day. I looked at my FitBit after an 8 hour shift and it said I had taken 14,000 steps and had walked 6 miles. So some may enjoy it, while others may find it exhausting and draining - the breaks seem a bit short. You only get 30 minutes for lunch on an 8 hour shift, however they do give you two 15 minute breaks as well. So if your 30 min break isn't scheduled until 3:45pm or so, you'd be trying to cram in eating lunch in your first 15 min break. - the pay isn't great - considered on the low side. As a sales associate, you are making just $12.50/hour. - also a con or a pro: the repetitive activities you do such as folding, straightening, walking back and forth, and ringing up customers for hours at a time could be draining for some or stimulating for others

Pros

Good full-time benefits, flexible scheduling. But the cons are starting to outweigh the good.

Cons

A new store manager took over the Massapequa Park location (Long Island, NY) and the workplace culture has become highly challenging since. Her management style is overly critical, and she makes harsh, rapid judgments without taking the time to know her associates or understand their roles. Furthermore, she does not lead by example, and she sets unrealistic expectations without providing regular check-ins or continuous coaching. This has left the staff feeling unsupported and neglected. There is also a strong perception that loyal employees hours are being unfairly cut or even terminated to reduce store costs rather than supporting the well-being and retention of the staff.
