      Pros

      Many opportunities for ad hoc projects and employees are encouraged to add value/improve current processes. The culture is open to change and new ideas.

      Cons

      Difficult to transition from accounting to finance even though many accounting positions do very little actual accounting. In an effort to be frugal the company has sacrificed efficiency in some departments.

      You need to be helpful, cross training and be beneficial to the job a must.

      Pros

      If you are smart and willing to do whatever it takes, you will get promoted. If you find the right mentor, your development will be a priority. If you love retail, this is the place for you.

      Cons

      Hope you get lucky with your manager and director and VP because if you end up in the wrong department on the wrong category, the environment is toxic.
