Pros
Excellent benefits, regular work, job security. climate controlled, generous discount and perks. Large company with many functions means opportunities exist for work outside DC operations. A lot of opportunity for hourly leadership to learn the business and gain experience.
Cons
Lower pay than comparable positions (despite suspiciously constant assurances of "competitive" pay rates). High reliance on contingent labor--leading to a very shallow talent pool when combined with lower wages. Constantly changing requirements that are increasingly demanding coupled with the difficulty in attracting and retaining talent at all levels is beginning to wear on surviving associates. Work-life balance gets a lot of lipservice, but a seeming inability to regulate work flow means teams frequently shift from burnout to low-paychecks even outside traditional "feast" and "famine" seasons.
