Pros
One thing that is great is the healthcare options. Very affordable and they even offer a free plan that I know many coworkers choose to trust. There are plenty of opportunities for free food as well. Every Tuesday a plethora of fruits and veggies, every other Thursday in winter months are parties, and once a month during summer they offer paid food trucks. The campus is very well maintained and they are usually always adding new "things". The free coffee is also a nice touch at times if you choose to indulge.
Cons
The upper management is very negative and constantly convey messages of not performing well enough, deadlines aren't being met soon enough, if you don't wanna be here then just leave. There is also a terrible display of communication between "engineers" (quotations used to insinuate a degree with no real knowledge or understanding of manufacturing) and the shop environment. Lack of communication company wide now that I think of it. There are plenty of managers who should not be in their respective positions and it shows! The planning process on the shop is also extremely unorganized and with a company this size, with an entire team of planners, is quite embarrassing. Scheduling will change multiple times within the hour which causes issues on the shop floor with machine setups and the sensation that employees should remain clocked in until the job is ready to run, even though it wasn't conveyed to us until halfway through our day that it needs to run. The spending habits of the company is very poor as well. Projects aren't thought out before a check is signed and this leads to a rushed feeling of trying to accomplish deadlines. Multiple coworkers refer to LSI as the next Kodak, which isn't a great outlook if you look at the history of layoffs.
