Pros

Close to home, allows for the continuation of education while working simultaneously, campus is fairly beautiful and many of the coworkers are great people to work with.

Cons

Not nearly enough financial support, difficult pay calendar, little communication with superiors, office space is limited in many departments, not a lot of freedom in work methods (even with things for which freedom should be assumed).

Pros

Benefits covered 90% of my healthcare needs. The time-off and work-from-home policies were flexible and allowed me to meet my military requirements.

Cons

The salary policy did not guarantee advancement for low-level employees. You are guaranteed a merit raise each year, but you cannot receive a salary raise within the same six-month period. If an Unclassified employee reaches the maximum of their pay scale, they will no longer receive a merit raise. A department supervisor must approve any pay scale increase. The appeal process takes longer than most are willing to accept.
