Pros
- Hired during COVID. - Neat product, with lots of potential. - Some pretty smart people work here.
Cons
There are a lot. Upper/senior management is impossible to work with. Politics are affected by their personal attitude outside of work, and can vary day-to-day so you never know who you're getting. LOTS of hiring, but they'll basically take anyone. People aren't invested in staying since they only hire lower engineers and middle-management types that can't advance the company, but love to drain time and tell people how to be better at their jobs. I've watched from the sidelines as people that I know are talented come and go into the org because they're ignored or mismanaged to irrelevancy. Few benefits, promises of raises that never come. Stock options program that feels shady AF -- a clause in the contract is you can't talk about your options with other employees or they become void. Long-standing employees who have been there forever are mistreated and not given the respect they've earned. Mandatory office days after productive WFH for over a year. Nobody wants to "own" anything, always passing the buck. Inner-office training falls on deaf ears. Poor technology stack choices.
