Pros

Lots of great coworkers, people are always willing to help out. Awesome benefits as far as time off and flexibility. For the most part no one looking over your shoulder all the time.

Cons

Some bad policies in HR and throughout departments keep people in positions that are a bad fit, when there are better opportunities. Even if another dept. wants you, you may not be able to leave. Way too many decisions are based on some VPs new idea to show that he/she is working toward the corporate goal for the year. This usually means changes are driven by people who don't understand the business at ground level, and efforts to improve from the ground up run into resistance from risk averse middle management.

Pros

It has taught me what I do not want in an employer It gave me experience for way better opportunities It made me realize that being a good worker doesn’t always mean being rewarded

Cons

When injured from being overworked and exhausted , they treated me like trash When compassion fatigue hit— they judged and questioned whether I belonged there rather than understood People make up rumors about you even if you didn’t do anything (it’s like a catty high school in there) Having one bad day constitutes you getting pulled in the office to be scolded If you’re a good worker, and you get your stuff done efficiently, they stuff you with more work Many individuals treat the animals like trash and are covered up by management if they are the “favorites” Most of the trainers there are absolutely catty people and will talk behind your back if you’re “too slow” or “not learning fast enough”
