Pros
Lots of opportunity for advancement if you are not self entitled and willing to prove your worth. Very competitive wages for designation groups. Evolving company with excellent growth and lots of projects. Lots of opportunity for overtime. Most people are great to work with and have a good safety culture mind set. The company will go above and beyond (usually) to keep you working on smaller projects between other major projects. The company is starting to employees younger people into supervisor / management roles.
Cons
Management and other higher segments are fractured with no engagement with "lower level" employees. The company hockey team and everything around it gives you an advantage over other employees. Too many divided lines between segments of the company that should be working together. The "old boys" network is very strong and used to doing things the old way not changing with the times. A large group of Superintendents and PM's are terrible planners / executors keeping "the cards to the chest" Its rare to be given an outlook to be able to plan ahead. Then you get raked over the coals and micro managed because you spent too much on rush supplies. The young superintendents are generally mentored by senior superintendents so they get great knowledge but pick up bad habits.
