Pros
Get to keep the work van (GPS tracked and speed monitored) Uniforms provided
Cons
Dear Job Hunter dont don't do it!! Firstly they give you training but if you don't stick around because you realise what a crappy job it is going to be, they make you pay back the training. Piece rate pay method is worst form of compensation for this role. If you get onsite and you need to climb a pole and run a new drop to a house just to supply internet means you can work for 3-4 hours to get $60. But the kicker is if a job does go long due to the house and requirements of the install it means you can only do a couple of jobs for the day leaving you with 100-120 bucks for 10 hours work in freezing conditions and non stop rain. How they can say they are a safe company when they send technicians up poles who are trying to get the job done as quickly as possible due to the piece rate method of pay. You regularly hear that home owners don't want non-telus technicians due to the crappy work they provide.
