If you work for staffing, be prepared to get the most patients, hardest patients, first to get an admission (or multiple) everywhere you go. Management will not have your back for anything. Units are allowed to complain even about the littlest things and you will be called in (for what could be a phone call) for a meeting on your day off and scolded/talked down to. Never heard of a staffing nurse that hasn’t had it happen to them at least a couple times in a year. And they will never believe your side and will always take the unit’s side. Never been in trouble ever until I started working in this department. I had anxiety every time I opened my email. Always waiting for the next email calling me into the office. I could not take it anymore. So much better to just pick a unit and stay there. This company wants magnet status but doesn’t treat their nurses well. Doesn’t have the nurse to patient ratios they claim they do. If you can handle working somewhere where everything is your fault then you can definitely make some good money. But if you want a nice work/life balance, trust me, it’s so not worth it. They think because you get paid more money than core staff, they can treat you however they want. Ne prepared to be everyone’s scapegoat. It was just a means to an end for me and I’m so glad I don’t have to work for these people anymore.
