When you evaluate the low cost of health insurance and cost avoidance of other benefits, such as tuition reimbursement, in combination with the salary, that makes a huge difference. In addition, Lee Health is committed to offering compensation packages that are equitable with current employees. If a new hire receives higher compensation for 10 years of experience than a current employee with 10 years of experience, we would have a very high turnover rate. Regarding discipline of staff, it's more than likely that any discipline is either directly or indirectly tied to patient care and safety.
