Pros

Pay is somewhat decent. You start out at $12/hr (although a couple employees have brought other offers to the table and have gotten more around $14/hr) and then you earn roughly a dime or a quarter more every 6 months. The coworkers and most of the people that work here are really the best pro about the job. 60% of the people here are awesome. Literally awesome. I'll discuss the other 40% in the cons. You earn one week of PTO gradually over your first year. What this means is basically every paycheck you earn 1.9 hours or so of PTO. After roughly 10 weeks, you have enough to take one day off. After your 1 year anniversary, this triples (3 weeks a year, roughly 5 hours accrued a week). The company sets goals and does fun stuff when they are met (although I'll talk more on this later as well). Every Friday is waffle Friday, and you are able to make your own waffle in the kitchen for breakfast. Beyond this, the company does the usual wear pajamas every now and then, leave work at 4pm on a Friday a couple days a year, dress up for Halloween, etc. All of the stuff you would normally find at an office type job.

Cons

Like I said, you start out at Legal Monkeys right about $12/hr and then receive a dime or quarter raise every 6 months. This is between < 1% and just a hair over a 2% raise. If you need someone to tell you that this is absolutely horrible, you probably are just happy about making $12/hr. For advertising that working at Legal Monkeys could be a career for you, they sure don't back it up with a paycheck. Still, its nowhere near minimum wage. The other 40% of people in the company that aren't in the "Awesome" category could probably be broken down into two further groups. Roughly 30% of the employees engage in childish behavior as far as gossip, backstabbing, slander, etc. It is truly sad to see, but at the same time it exists everywhere. I feel as though this percentage of employees is unfortunately a little higher here compared to other places. Also, a couple key members of management fall into this group, making the overall appearance of the company worse than it should be. The last 10% or so is just the people that show up to work everyday just for the job. They don't add value to the culture, don't bring anything to the team, and are likely on their way out. There is fairly high turnover at Legal Monkeys, so just keep this in mind. The PTO policy is fairly standard I think. It is tough your first year as you are basically supposed to work your first calendar year without taking any time off. But you'll probably find this anywhere. The goal setting and reward process for employees that the company uses to promote productivity has always been a grey area. Let me be clear, rewards are given frequently and hard work is generally rewarded. However, at the same time there has been numerous promises made by management to teams, employees, and the entire company that were not followed through on. A safe bet as an employee here is to never expect the big rewards to actually be given, and to hold your team lead strictly accountable for what promises they specifically make to you. This limits disappointment and prevents your team lead from jerking you around. Beyond this, there is really no other blaring cons. I have read some of the other negative reviews on here and would have to disagree with some of the more shocking statements, but also generally agree with the anger and frustrations towards mismanagement as a whole at the company. Since I have been here (a little over a year) I have seen management make several poor decisions which has negatively impacted the culture.

Pros

Sometimes they cater lunch, or get coffee

Cons

On my second day, a team leader asked me if I was a slur. If you have medical issues that impact your work and you need an accommodation, they will go through the motions, but you will be judged for it. Religious scriptures are read and prayers performed at random times during the day. If you aren't outwardly religious, you will be judged. Management will straight up lie to your face to save their own behind.
