Pros
Being able to work from home full time, with no expectation to go into any office at all is amazing. It's even better that my leader is not a micromanager! The development that I've received here at LegalZoom has been invaluable. I appreciate all of the opportunities to grow & learn, & it feels nice to be heard & respected by my peers, cross-functional partners, & leaders. It's also amazing to hear the business cascades from senior leadership, which shows their dedication to communication & transparency.
Cons
Things tend to pivot more often than not, which can be frustrating for some, but I love that it keeps me on my toes & keeps my job interesting! Despite being a 20+ year-old company, LegalZoom's infrastructure hasn't quite caught up to their growth yet. There are still processes that could be automated but are still manual, which can be frustrating for new hires. LegalZoom also lacks standard operating procedures, which can make onboarding difficult. Just like anywhere, leadership can vary depending on your function. I've heard horror stories from some teams but also dream management practices from other teams. Since we are remote, there is this unspoken "wish" that cameras are on. Although my team is pretty flexible & I have no personal qualms about it, LegalZoom is not a remote environment where everyone is always off camera.
