Not all teams, but my general assessment is that often times you have to seek support outside of your direct team to understand how to show up in your team effectively. This community is what guided me, because my manager was not a leader. She canceled our 1:1 the week before performance reviews, never pulling me aside to provide proper guidance ahead of this huge milestone, blindsiding me on my first corporate performance review.
