Pros

Liberty Mutual used to be a great place to work up until a few years ago when the CEO decided to place people in their 30's or early 40's, just a few years out of graduate school, into Sr. Management positions. The CEO values a couple of years extra education over decades of experience. They lack many skills necessary to lead the organization such as reasoning and understanding of the business through hands on experience. Few if any have ever managed a large office and dealt with the challenges associated.

Cons

It is all about corporate greed these days. Over the past several years, Liberty has made record profits. Yet, Sr. Management is more concerned about protecting their executive bonus plan vs. the people that helped build this company over the years and decades. Home Office continues to expand and grow while the employee positions in the field continue to get cut in favor of technology that is supposed to make processes more efficient, all while the executives fly around everywhere in their corporate jets. Being a customer for over 20 years, I have never received a premium refund associated with these record profits.

Pros

Work from home, only in office twice a month

Cons

-Extremely high paced -Too many claims. Caseload is way too big. -Super stressful having to deal with customers. A lot of them don’t understand insurance or what their policy covers so you will constantly deal with pissed off uninformed insureds -metrics are unrealistic and unattainable. You need to have a 98% answer rate but at the same time you have a million cases and people calling you constantly so this is impossible to achieve. On top of that you have to actually document and determine liability. -Awful work life balance
