Good for company to put on resume - Claims Intern Liberty Mutual Insurance Employee Review

Pros

The compensation is quite competitive for interns! There were opportunities to switch to other departments after the end of your internship period, particurlary if you were interning at a branch office and wanted to work in corporate in Boston. Conference calls each week allows you to learn about different careers within the company and you can ask questions to senior level management.

Cons

It depends on which office and position. As a claims intern, work load was not challenging and it gets boring very easily. 99% of the time, you are on the phone giving customer service. The huge presentation at the end of the internship was probably the most learningful experience. Other than that, basically 90% is job shadowing; the other 5% is conference call presentations with corporate and then 5% doing actual work. I think positions in corporate would be more fun and meaningful.

Pros

Decent pay, way to start in insurance, decent training, nice facility with lots of parking.

Cons

Unbelievable workload that cannot be completed in an 8 hour period. However, it is expected to be done with no overtime allowed. Coworkers crying at their desk due to receiving a weeks worth of work in 1 day. Can crush all of your marks just to be met with well for this reason you only meets, so here is your 3%.
