Pros

Solid health benefits and 401k immediately vested match (though you must wait 6 months before you can contribute).

Cons

Worst professional experience I’ve had to date. My experience can be summed up in two words: toxic and minimizing. Incompetent, rude and out of touch management. Department leadership has little to no understanding of basic marketing principles. Executive leadership would often get caught up in small details, ask irrelevant questions and could not provide a clear vision for the company. Culture is built on micromanagement and fear. There is no sense of team - coworkers are quick to escalate to managers instead of discussing issues one on one. Lack of respect for industry expertise, and you are expected to follow “the Lidl way” of doing things which means relying on leadership’s thoughts and feelings rather than data and industry best practices. Due to lack of trust and micromanagement, my day to day tasks were very menial. Some days I felt like a glorified intern.

Intelligent engaged people, Modern offices, Decent pay, and good retirement benefits.

Cons

Growing pains of a European company modifying its business to grow its American footprint. Senior leadership was mostly European. Felt disconnected from American grocery culture.
