Pros

As someone who has worked in the corporate world most of my career, Life.Church is uniquely family friendly. Family takes priority and my job/role never feels threatened when that is put to the test. I feel well cared for as a person. My mental and physical health are genuinely encouraged. Our benefits are very generous (ie. medical, PTO, retirement, etc). We are purposefully appreciated on a consistent basis. Wins and milestones are celebrated BIG. I am supported as a leader. We receive constructive feedback regularly and multiple development opportunities are presented to take advantage of. Regardless of ranking, opinions and ideas matter and feedback is encouraged to be reciprocated. Teamwork is a reality here. We don’t compete against each other but work alongside each other toward a mission we’re all passionate about. Whether that means stepping in to cover someone’s responsibilities when they’re taking PTO or navigating an emergency/crisis, the team willingly ensures there aren’t any gaps so that person is able to fully disengage. Strengths, weaknesses, gifts and personality types are identified in a healthy way so they can best be utilized and developed. Collaboration is abundant here.

Cons

Incompetent leaders do exist in the organization that make it challenging for some to succeed, despite the incredible investment the org makes to develop leaders. Fortunately, I don’t work with any of them in my line of the org chart. We can be too “nice” with each other that communication can sometimes be diluted and lack accountability. This can also lead to inefficiency in processes and achieving objectives. Pay for most of the central office roles is below market. Without the “perks” of ministry tax incentives in these roles, there is definitely a financial sacrifice to consider before accepting one of these roles.

I like to keep up with there necessities and provide where needed and do all as required and needed, while seek'ing to make friend's. It is a custom of my people from Mexico to apply ourselves to the best of our ability. While showing & providing respect , integrity, virtue & dignity to those around us.
