Pros

Incredible place to work to build experience, receive supervision while supporting a diverse client population. Extremely flexible hours, opportunity to either work from home or in office with administrative staff. Truly caring, intentional, experienced regional leaders that are open to feedback and value their employees.

Cons

Working in mental health in a publicly held corporation has its conflicts of interest. No paid vacation time for FT employees which is counterintuitive to the work we do as trauma informed providers. No paid training. Profitability and bottom-line results for shareholders should not be reason to think of long term needs and burnout potential of providers.

Pros

Literally just the fact that you get weekends off. That’s it.

Cons

Micromanagement. You can’t make any mistakes at all but yet the other teams on front desk and med serv can do as they please. You have to be ok with doing your work and other people’s work with no extra pay. They also add extra work to that same plate every month. I went from just scheduling first visits for patients to assisting front desk with referrals, grading my own calls?, scheduling 7+ more states than just New York. Oh and each state schedules differently so life stance wants you to learn each way that each state schedules. They also accept different insurances so you gotta remember that too. You have meetings either your manager every single Friday and she makes you ask questions even though you do the same job every day. Then she says you don’t have to ask questions but gets mad if you don’t. And God forbid you make a little mistake like forgetting to make a note or something. She’ll call you 5 times in a row even if you’re on the phone with a patient to ask you about it and give you attitude. She’ll tell you “let me know if you have questions” then when you ask questions you get an attitude! They don’t raise your pay and they always bring up “bonuses” but yet they keep changing the requirements to get the bonuses. You’re basically doing 7 jobs at once for $20 an hour. You also won’t be promoted unless you know someone. Favoritism plays a large role here
