Pros

Incredible regional director, supervision, and coworkers. I had a bad internship experience before joining LifeStance and was worried that I had fallen behind in my clinical experience. I now have access to a hugely diverse clientele that has helped me narrow in on where I want to specialize, and LifeStance has helped me connect with clinicians with similar specialties. Benefits are a plus and offices they provide are very comfortable.

Cons

Even though this is my first real clinical roll since graduating, compensation seems pretty low. The pay split for un-licensed clinicians is 40%. Projected salary is $57,000, but that's only if you can keep 27 clients a week. LPCC's get mostly Mediciad clients and I have about 1-5 non-billable no-show/cancellations each week. Only paid per session as well, so nothing to show for time spent on notes or consultations/meetings. My last monthly paycheck was $2,934.00 before taxes and benefits ($1,858.46 after). Hard to pay bills and rent on that.

Pros

Copilot said: Flexible hybrid schedule, autonomy and independence, supportive colleagues, collaborative culture with resource sharing, strong administrative support, modern and cozy office spaces, good work-life balance, and a positive team environment.

Cons

Fee-for-service model creates significant income instability, especially while building a caseload. Despite being paid per session, you are generally expected to remain available during your scheduled hours and need approval to block time, making it difficult to use gaps in your schedule freely. Vacation time, sick time, holidays, and office closures are unpaid. No-show compensation is inconsistent. Sign-on bonus repayment requirements can significantly reduce paychecks if you leave early. Health benefits are costly, with high deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses. The 401(k) match is decent, but the company contribution is paid annually, so employees who leave before the payout may miss out on the match. Overall, the compensation and benefits did not meet expectations, making this a financially risky position if one does not have substantial savings or another source of income.
