Pros

-Able to work in office, remote or hybrid at your discretion. -Flexible schedule- self-directed. -Caseload builds quickly, always new referrals available. -Appropriate referrals provided depending on clinical expertise/specialty -Friendly and supportive colleagues -Free CEUs at CE4Less -Online profile created at Psychologytoday.com -EAP -Billing and credentialing are completed for providers by the agency -Private office space

Cons

-Pay was advertised as higher during hiring process. -No paid time off -If you take time off and don't make it up, you may risk losing benefits -Benefits such as health insurance/eye/dental for a family is VERY expensive and high deductible plan -No annual salary increase or bonus -Admin work is not paid (trainings, letter writing, form completion, we are allowed to bill for this, but it would come directly out of the client's pocket, which may deter clients) -Some clients have complained or left counseling related to non-transparent billing or receiving large bills -Training process is primarily online and very little to no onsite or hands on training. -Communication/clinical support

Pros

Incredible place to work to build experience, receive supervision while supporting a diverse client population. Extremely flexible hours, opportunity to either work from home or in office with administrative staff. Truly caring, intentional, experienced regional leaders that are open to feedback and value their employees.

Cons

Working in mental health in a publicly held corporation has its conflicts of interest. No paid vacation time for FT employees which is counterintuitive to the work we do as trauma informed providers. No paid training. Profitability and bottom-line results for shareholders should not be reason to think of long term needs and burnout potential of providers.
