Pros

I work with Lifetouch Church Directories. Colleagues are nice to work with. Manager is also great to work with. They give you all the tools to succeed. Earning potential is there when the work is there.

Cons

Commission only. Often you travel far and out of your assigned area. Seems better selling colleagues are assigned to better accounts even if they are not in there own area. New employees are often sent to accounts that don't sell as good. This keeps income so very low. Winter months are practically dead. 1-4 days scheduled causing loss of income potential and with the holidays that is very tough. This could only be in my area but it hurts.

Pros

Strong since of community at local level, and support from Directors and regional managers however all that support is no longer employed.

Cons

Revolving CEO lead to new strategic focus every 3 years. Round after round of layoffs, mergers, restructures. I went through no less than 6 during my 5 years as a senior manager. Lost local control, and ability to build relationships with accounts. Closed offices based on lease agreements rather than area performance. I would be very careful to ask questions about culture, and tenure of staff, ask how many offices were closed or restructures have happened since Shutterfly, and then Apollo Global Capital. Apollo Global Management usually holds onto assets for 3-5 years, we are past that mark so I would be expecting that they will be breaking up Shutterfly in the near future if it is no longer profitable.
