Pros

meeting new people everyday and building relationships with customers

Cons

The company does not give raises , no matter how long or how well you work as an employee. The company itself is vindictive as far as providing empty promises just so you meet sales goals. They do not provide actual commission on sales. Although meeting sales goal is everything to this company , they are not fair with the commission . they give you whats called spiffs. $2 dollars off off the highest package which is priced at $259 before tax and that's only if you sell that package , oh not to mention photograph it so if you do not photograph it you get 1 whole dollar ...Sound fair? the job is not worth it and I was a manager making ONLY 15 an hour . the job is stressful , they give no hours your lucky if you get 15 and for the pay even for a manager is not worth it . way to much work and appointments they make one person do while the company takes all the monry that you make them.

Pros

Strong since of community at local level, and support from Directors and regional managers however all that support is no longer employed.

Cons

Revolving CEO lead to new strategic focus every 3 years. Round after round of layoffs, mergers, restructures. I went through no less than 6 during my 5 years as a senior manager. Lost local control, and ability to build relationships with accounts. Closed offices based on lease agreements rather than area performance. I would be very careful to ask questions about culture, and tenure of staff, ask how many offices were closed or restructures have happened since Shutterfly, and then Apollo Global Capital. Apollo Global Management usually holds onto assets for 3-5 years, we are past that mark so I would be expecting that they will be breaking up Shutterfly in the near future if it is no longer profitable.
