Pros

I worked in the church division for 5 years. You have creative freedom to pretty much photograph how you want, and sell how you want. You work with one other photographer and hardly see your manager. You get to meet people and travel, and work shift is 2pm-9pm perfect for people like me who don't like waking up early. My co-workers and managers were great and we were like a big family. You get hotel discount and points when traveling too.

Cons

You work in different churches sometimes over 100 miles from your home, and some people buy portraits and some people don't. Some weeks you work 6 days, some weeks you don't work at all. Currently this job is commission only so you're screwed if you don't get sales. I was also forced to carry a studio in my car, which takes up your whole car and is an extra responsibility that you don't get paid enough for. I was full time and always had health insurance, but the past year I was told I was short a few hours to qualify and didn't get insurance. What a way to treat your best employees.

Pros

Great Sales Team. Remote based position.

Cons

-Losing out to competitors has become acceptable or business as usual. -Management has become out of touch with what is going on in the field. -Outdated Photography equipment. -There is constant turnover with photographers. Difficult to keep good people when they are not paid well & have no structure. -Company is very reactionary. Making cuts seems to always be their answer to solve low profits.
