When they say in the interviews to expect to "maybe" be on the road as early as 4 or 5am "sometimes," they fail to mention that they actually mean "on the road by 4:30am the latest every single day, then proceeding to drive 2+ hours in the dark while nodding off behind the wheel, and working long, fast paced, exhausting, non-stop high physical and social energy shifts on your feet without a break or so much as a moment to stop and catch your breath." Half of all staff photographers they hired for the new season quit within the first few weeks or would just neglect to show up for work. When photographers wouldn't show up, they would make other photographers drive 3+ hours to fill in at the last minute on their days off, or just leave the remaining, sorely understaffed photographers on the assignment to scramble and photograph an entire public school system of kids in the already short window of time. If you like operating full-power after waking up before the crack of dawn and driving hours and hours all over creation and working yourself to the bone for $10/hr, then this job is for you.
