Heavy culture of politics- as long as you are a good soldier, you are protected by favoritism and close relationships. Doing an excellent job is minor compared to playing the political game. An archaic authoritative mentality by some long term top leaders still exists.
HR doesn’t present itself as approachable and sides with managers without hearing entire story. This may be a cultural thing from that leadership? Integrity is a core value so do the right thing no matter how difficult!
If you are looking for a culture of “Recognition” you won’t get that here. This culture is embraced by many leaders inclusive of the HR leadership team. The company needs experienced change agents instead of leaders that are always occupied with looking out for their own vested interests and getting away with it. Exhausting and disappointing!
Any diversity is smoke and mirrors! A solid opportunity for improvement! They do things in subtle ways.
It’s Disturbing how much drinking is encouraged and funded by many of the company managers and executives. Those that don’t wish to participate for any reason (health, integrity, etc) are outcasts. This culture really made me uncomfortable.
If you are a strong contributor, many leaders are threatened by this, and they will intentionally hold you back. Happens all the time and highly impacts the diverse population. Kills morale and creates burnout.
