Pros

Lockton is a great place to work if you are willing to work hard. We put our clients first and deliver top-notch service that is recognized year after year by industry leaders. Lockton is a people-first organization and not just when it comes to clients. There is a strong emphasis on the importance of giving back to our community, including one paid volunteer day a year if you choose to use it and team volunteer events. Additionally, Lockton invests in its associates as people and not just "workers"- there is a competitive 401(k) match that is fully vested right away), and there are constant social opportunities including Beer Fridays. We have a very social office. There is an open door policy and you are encouraged to ask for help when needed. The flat hierarchy combined with the quality of people that Lockton hires creates a strong team-mentality and makes working here enjoyable. Management in the Charlotte office is wonderful, there is a lot of support for associates. The leadership genuinely cares about everyone and wants us to succeed.

Cons

Training is a growth area for Lockton, however they are working on putting a more consistent program together. Conversely if you ask for additional information regarding a specific topic, management will get you what you need.

Pros

A true “team effort” environment. I think it really depends on who your team lead is and the dynamic of the group you work with. You will get a ton of experience fine tuning skills as they provide constant trainings and resources to learn. Decent pay when compared to competitor companies and great 401k plan. Plenty of company and marketing events. Hybrid work is great. Again to preface, who you work with can make or break the atmosphere, but everyone I’ve met has been extremely nice and willing to help. Opportunities to grow within the company.

Cons

Health benefits could be better. Company is really pushing new business and there can be a lot of work and last minute fires to put out that can feel daunting. There have been quite a few times I’ve worked late into the night to get things wrapped up. You need to self organize or things can easily fall through the cracks very quickly. A lot of meetings that can take up a majority of your day - leaving less time to get actual work done.
