Pros
The benefits are pretty good - decent pay, 37.5 hour weeks, good amount of vacation days, and lots of holidays. Excellent health insurance coverage, but with a caveat...
Cons
The health insurance is excellent, but to get full coverage you have to do tons of silly activities to lower the premium. None of it improves health or the wellbeing of employees. However, if you want to go into brokerage there are many opportunities to advance. But be warned - it's an environment geared towards males who like to drink and golf. Some of the brokers and those supporting brokerage activities are top professionals. But most are disorganized divas, especially those working with municipalities. The so called marketing communications dept is just a factory for responding to RFPs and providing graphic design/website support to health insurance companies. That team is toxic and all it devotes its time is to talk bad about the brokers and external clients. Very demoralizing.
