Pros

The people I’ve worked closely with are wonderful. If you get lucky with good accounts and upsells, you can make some real money and have fun at work.

Cons

If you get a few clients that are extremely high-touch, hard to deal with, bordering on abusive, that will change your workflow completely. The pay range between people in the same role varies greatly due to the month-to-month volatility of spend/clients cancelling/etc. Also it just depends on the type/quality of accounts you’re assigned. Some people I know work so hard full time and still qualify for food stamps or need to work a second job. Some people are making 6 figures. All in the same role. Also there are many re-orgs which are marketed as good for the employees, but every re-org changes the bonus structure to the detriment of the employees’ paychecks that they rely on. Your paycheck can vary month to month extremely, which makes life/bills/plans/vacations/rent/mortgage/etc. difficult to plan.

Thank you for your feedback. As with most customer service roles, the most challenging part can be working with all the different personalities. This is why we have a robust support structure for our teams to make sure when there are difficult situations, account managers always have someone to fall back on. This includes team leads, assistant team leads, managers, and VPs from multiple departments. We know that there has been a lot to adjust to over the last year and appreciate all the work our teams have done to adapt. Currently, over 70% of the team earns more in the new model than in the previous model, which makes a reversal unfavorable for the majority of the department. Leadership is always happy to discuss this more so please feel free to reach out to me directly or your leadership team. Kristen Harvey, SVP SMB Paid Media Client Services

Pros

- Positive and diverse culture - All the sales help/assistance that you need - Your long term career here will be based on performance not likeability (both positive and negative because I like to be liked, but at the end of the day business is business and you'll have to perform) - You will perhaps have a higher starting salary at other companies, but here you wont be first off of the chopping block. You determine for yourself how valuable you want to be for a company, and they will pay you accordingly. - Work & life balance get better the more successful you get in the role

Cons

- You'll have to be really honest with yourself on what you need to do to get better - If you want the help I mentioned above, you'll have to be self-initiated - Your long-term career here will be based on performance not likeability (both positive and negative, because I like to be liked, but at the end of the day, business is business and you'll have to perform)

Pros

Great team of people on every level, from the training to the teams we are on when we get started- everyone is so supportive and they really make the workday more fun. The training and the amount of resources available really do lay a foundation for success in this role that's hard to beat.

Cons

It's hard to say that there are really any "cons" because this job is entirely what you make of it.
