Pros

Colleagues are generally nice possibly cause we all went through hell together and camaraderie is fostered.

Cons

We kept hearing it’s fast paced environment but is it truly fast paced cause a lot of things done seem to be due to poor process/system set up and communication which resulted in people spending a lot of time handling the situations. The insane amount of night calls (worst if there’re daylight savings) yet expected to start work at 8am or sometimes earlier to speak with night shift colleagues or cause need to catch the transport. This place is for superhumans who doesn’t need personal time and is just happy working around the clock. You need to have a lot of stamina to survive this place. Environment can get toxic when feedback just meant pointing out your flaws or shortcoming even if you are just new to a process or function. Benefits is generally poor than other pharmas. Flexi dollars are fraction of other pharmas. Standard basic benefits nothing special for mention.

Pros

Compensation (for higher level associates/senior management positions)

Cons

1) Work/life balance - leaders don't honor paid time off. Many teams expect you to be available during paid time off periods 2) Benefits - employer doesn't offer employer-subsidized vision insurance 3) Holidays - employer doesn't offer MLK Day and Juneteeth as paid days off, indicating how little they value diversity, inclusion, and belonging 4) Promotions - political; not based on merit 5) Mandated 5 day return-to-office to enable "in person collaboration" while at the same time offshoring jobs to cheaper markets. 6) PTO - based on tenure, but I think Lonza prefers high turnover so they don't have to give people time off (if they even honor it in the first place - see con 1) 7) Lack of harmonization - for an established CDMO, I was surprised at the level of misalignment between sites and the lack of standardization of processes
