I find it to be fun and I love taking care of the animals like they're my own pets. Coworkers are nice, Supervisors are nice. Just follow the rules (they're pretty lax just don't be stupid) and you'll survive. The work itself isn't too hard, it can be challenging at first but it gets easier with time. Treat the animals with love and attention and keep up with the paper work side of things and you'll have no problems.

Base access can be a problem. The work is physical and depending on the species it can range on the amount of animals you work with, and depending on the day you can be scrubbing or sanitizing rooms or cage changes. The start time when you're starting out is usually 6 am, so if you live further that can be a pain.

Coworkers can be nice and helpful when they don't report to management to curry favor. Dangerously independent learning and work condition.

In my opinion: The worst churn rate I've ever seen. Most people I've met work here for less than 1-2 years. Staff is chronically over worked and underpaid. Animals work is demoralizing. Facility is in disrepair. Theft occurs on the property with little to no oversite. Mass reignations have occurred with little changes to operations. Some reviews are posted to keep the churn going - you can tell by how few things they have to say and yet they still rate it 5 stars.
